The past few days are finally starting to take their toll on Obadiah when Milliways appears tonight. It's mostly over, save for tracking down the masterminds and dealing with them. Tony is fine - physically, at least - and Sherlock hardly the worse for wear despite the blow to the head he took. In terms of physical damage, the worst they got was Jones's broken leg. In terms of publicity, they're doing well; Stark Industries is front page news. Everyone likes a happy ending.

He's still looking very much forward to making the assholes in charge of the operation pay the price, but for now he's more than happy to settle in at the fireplace with a drink. And, at Bar's insistence, dinner.

Obadiah has gotten some sleep, but not much. There's too much to do, and he has to be ready to alert his security team at any moment.

He's up well before dawn, on the phone with Virginia to outline the things he'll need her to take care of while he concentrates on the Tony situation.

It's only been a few hours since Obadiah left Milliways, but it may as well have been years. After all, he can't let thoughts of Tony (or of Howard) distract him during the workday. There's too much to be done, and of all the things of which one could justifiably accuse Obadiah, lacking devotion to his professional life certainly isn't one of them. He's hard at work in his office, and hasn't spared a single thought for Milliways since he sat down.

Not even when his own Tony visited earlier, but then that's an issue all on its own. There are some thoughts he simply can't afford to be having when his Tony is around.

He does have to go back home eventually.

But can you blame him for lingering over breakfast at the Bar so he can bask a little while longer?

"After you."

Obadiah holds the door open for Tony.

Everything inside is ready, though nothing looks any different from usual. (Aside from the door to the bedroom being ajar rather than either fully open or closed.)

[OOC: Trigger warning for consensual rape fantasy scenario! Proceed with caution.]

There is a note awaiting Obadiah at the Bar today.

I wish to speak with you privately. Meet me in your room at your earliest convenience. SH

As it turns out, Obadiah's earliest convenience is not until several hours after he reads the note.

(He has no interest in being dictated to.)

Eventually, though, he makes his way upstairs.

Milliways's appearance on the other side of the bathroom door is unexpected, but more acceptable than it would have been fifteen minutes ago. Obadiah is fresh from a shower, his sleeves worn just a little longer than usual. His business in the room he was using is concluded, and he doesn't see why he can't get a drink before he goes home.

It's one of those days where there aren't enough hours to get everything done. That's where Milliways comes in.

Obadiah just wishes he could use it for business lunches.

It's been a little longer than Obadiah might have liked since Milliways's last appearance - long enough that the bites on his neck have healed over with shining new scar tissue. They can be mostly hidden with a carefully arranged collar, and he does that during the day, especially at work. His disappearance created enough gossip as it was. No need to provide fresh material.

He's not doing that now, though. He's loosened his tie and tugged down his collar, because here there are certain parties whose reactions he's very interested in.

It's been a few days since the clone turned up on his doorstep, and the subsequent and eventful visit to Milliways.

Obadiah is certain that Tony must know by now and has been taking the time to absorb the information. He'll show up to confront Obadiah sooner or later; Obadiah doesn't expect to wait for much longer.

When he returned home from Milliways, he made the call he'd intended to. Just with a different request. Galen is on standby. (He loves the plan, of course - the sadistic nature of the vampire in action. He's promised to send his best and most controlled vampires on the errand. They can all be trusted to obey their leader and bring Obadiah back alive no matter how tempting his blood is, but some are more skilled than others in making an attack look worse than it is.) With a little luck, Tony will pick nighttime to have it out. If he doesn't, that's fine. Arrangements can be made for later. But it will be easiest if he does.

So Obadiah waits.

Obadiah takes his time in his room, showering and dressing and getting his thoughts in order. A new plan for dealing with his Tony is beginning to form, and he thinks it might have a more than reasonable chance of working if he can pull it off.

Maybe further conversation with the Tony here can help solidify that chance, one way or the other.

When he does eventually go downstairs (dressed casually, by his standards - crisp white shirt, no tie, dark pants that aren't part of a suit), he pauses to scan the room for Tony before finding a table himself. No doubt the boy is here somewhere, probably halfway through his own dinner by now.
